Teaches, or gives the answer?
The Play listing describes an AI tutor that listens, corrects pronunciation, and builds phonics. That is teaching a skill, not solving a worksheet.
Kid safety and privacy
Verified from public pages
Ello’s children’s privacy policy says it complies with COPPA. It collects a first name, age, and grade to pick activities, and it asks for verifiable parental consent for some features, including voice. Ello says conversation audio may be processed by a model provider to run the tutor and that it does not permit those providers to train their general models on that information, except as the policy allows.
What we could not verify
- The current premium price is unpublished on the marketing site. An older App Store listing for “Read with Ello” showed $14.99 a month and $139 a year. That looks like a legacy product, so it is not used here as the Ello 2.0 price.
- The Play listing we read describes reading and math from pre-K through grade 3, for ages 4–9. It does not cover upper elementary or middle school.
